Product Description:
The 4MPCBX.0000-00 is a handheld operator panel from B&R Automation that belongs to the 4MP Mobile Panels series. It is intended for direct machine interaction, allowing an operator to start, stop, or adjust automated processes while positioned next to the equipment. The device combines control functions with integrated safety circuits so that motion commands and emergency shutdowns can be issued from the same housing without routing them to a distant cabinet.
The panel is enclosed in a housing that is 172.5 mm wide, 81.7 mm deep, and 158.7 mm high. These dimensions fit comfortably in two-handed operation while leaving space for internal wiring. An ingress rating of IP65 permits use in dusty or splash-prone zones on the plant floor. Internal electronics draw only 150 mA at nominal load, easing power-supply sizing for tethered or tool-changer applications. Two M16 and two M20 entries are provided so separate cable glands can be assigned to signal, power, and grounding conductors. Communications are handled through dedicated CAN, Ethernet, and RS232 interfaces, allowing the unit to exchange real-time data with PLCs or motion drives. The rear slot for monitoring contacts routes status signals from the grip-detection and hot-plug circuitry back to the safety controller.
Operator protection is delivered by an emergency-stop pushbutton wired with 2 normally closed contacts. Redundant feedback channels satisfy typical category 3 requirements, and two additional normally closed hot-plug contacts disable drive power if the panel is disconnected while active. Mechanical strength comes from a die-cast aluminum housing made of GK-AlSi11Mg, while the front cover plate uses GK-AlSi9Mg to keep weight low without compromising rigidity. External faces receive a powder-coated RAL 7012 surface finish that improves scratch resistance and blends with standard B&R mounting brackets.
