The 4MP281.0843-K01 handheld operator panel belongs to the 4MP Mobile Panels series produced by B & R Automation. Designed for mobile machine interaction, the device gives operators direct access to control variables while remaining portable on the plant floor. By combining graphical feedback, tactile keys, and hard-wired safety elements, the panel serves as a human-machine interface for jogging, parameter entry, and diagnostics without opening a cabinet. Its handheld format also allows commands to be issued close to the section of the machine being observed, which supports clearer local control during setup and fault review.

Power is supplied at 24 VDC, allowing the panel to connect directly to low-voltage control circuits. An 8.4 in screen provides a compact viewing area that still supports detailed process drawings. Data transfer from service tools is simplified through USB 1.1, while touch input is accepted by the Resistive touchscreen, which tolerates stylus or gloved operation. Retentive counters or error logs can be stored inside 256 kB of SRAM, protecting key values through fast power cycles.
