This layout lets operators monitor status, adjust setpoints, and acknowledge alarms while standing next to the process equipment instead of at a fixed console.
Internally, the panel runs on a 24 VDC supply and uses a Geode SC2200 processor clocked at 266 MHz. This x86-compatible CPU coordinates the operating system, the user program, and fieldbus tasks. Visual feedback comes from an 8.4 in color TFT whose native 640 × 480 resolution matches the touch grid, so graphics are rendered pixel-for-pixel without scaling artifacts. The screen’s 250:1 contrast ratio helps keep text legible in typical indoor lighting. Data exchange with the controller network is handled through a 10/100 Mbit/s Ethernet port, enabling parameter downloads and real-time diagnostics. A CompactFlash slot accepts Type I cards for recipe storage and archived system data, and the panel contains 64 MB of SDRAM plus 256 kB of SRAM to preserve retentive variables during power loss.
