A built-in display, processor, and communication ports form a self-contained control point, so no fixed cabinet panel is required. Because the panel can be used close to the machine, status and control functions remain available where process conditions are easiest to observe, which supports setup, troubleshooting, and minor adjustments on automated production lines.
The panel runs on a Geode SC2200 CPU clocked at 266 MHz. Working memory consists of 64 MB of SDRAM, 256 kB of battery-backed SRAM for retentive data, and 4 MB of graphics RAM for an LCD with a diagonal size of 5.7 in. The display renders at 320 x 240 px, delivers 120 cd/m² of brightness, and has a contrast ratio of 250:1, while its cold-cathode backlight is rated for 50,000 h. Ethernet communication reaches 100 Mbit/s through the integrated RJ45 interface, enabling rapid transfer of screen objects and program updates from higher-level controllers.
Fourteen tactile soft keys line the bezel, and a resistive touch layer supports finger or stylus input for fine cursor placement. The electronics are powered from a single 24 VDC supply, which simplifies field wiring on gantry arms or mobile carts.
