Product Description:
The 4MP251.0571-12 is a handheld human-machine interface produced by B&R Automation within the 4MP Mobile Panels series. As a portable operator panel, it connects directly to machine control networks and provides on-site parameter entry, status visualization, and manual jogging functions in automated production cells. The panel integrates a color LCD, an embedded processor, and fieldbus interfaces in a sealed housing so that operators can adjust process settings without returning to a fixed cabinet terminal.
In operation, a Geode SC2200 processor runs at 266 MHz, giving the panel enough performance for local graphics rendering and protocol handling. Application code and runtime data reside in 64 MB SDRAM, so several control pages and alarm buffers can be held in memory. The display shows process values on a 320 × 240 px matrix, and the viewing area set by the 5.7 in diagonal is large enough for finger navigation while remaining compact for one-handed use. For recipe import, a rear port supports the legacy USB 1.1 standard, and additional data storage can be provided through the Type I CompactFlash slot. A dedicated SJA1000 controller provides CAN communication to PLC I/O networks.
The electronics are supplied from a 24 VDC nominal rail shared with typical machine sensors. An LED backlight rated for 50,000 h supports long service life, and brightness is maintained at 150 cd/m² with a contrast ratio of 250:1 for clear viewing on the shop floor. Mechanical limits are set by 306.6 × 76 × 270.6 mm overall dimensions, keeping the unit portable while leaving enough space for an ergonomically arranged keypad. For Ethernet diagnostics, an onboard MacPhyter DP83816 links the panel to SCADA or MES hosts and complements the existing USB, CAN, and CompactFlash interfaces.
