Product Description:
The 4C2200 operator interface panel is produced by B&R Automation as part of the 4C PanelWare Panels series. It combines processing, memory, and fieldbus ports in one housing so that machine builders can add programmable visualization and keypad control without an extra controller. In automated lines, the panel accepts 24 VDC control power, runs local software, and exchanges data with drives or PLC networks, allowing it to present status screens and receive commands directly at the machine frame.
Its power input is 24 VDC, and it draws 130 mA at 24 VDC, allowing it to share the same low-current source that feeds cabinet sensors. The enclosure measures 182 × 182 × 55 mm, permitting flush mounting while still leaving space for one display module and up to seven keypad modules. Communication is handled through 2× RS232, RS422/RS485, CAN ports that appear on a rear panel fitted with 3× 9-pin D-SUB (M), 1× 9-pin D-SUB (F) connectors. IF0 and IF1 share a common ground, whereas IF2 and an optional IF3 are galvanically isolated, preventing bus noise from reaching the CPU. Three auxiliary interface supplies provide 5 VDC and 200 mA on IF0, 12 VDC and 200 mA on IF1, and 5 VDC with 200 mA on IF2 for external transceivers or handheld programming tools.
Inside the panel, a 256 Kbyte System ROM stores the executive code, while application programs run from a separate 256 Kbyte User RAM that retains data as long as field power is present. Recipes and alarm logs are secured in a dedicated 256 Kbyte User ROM, eliminating the need for external flash cards. A non-volatile real-time clock maintains accurate time stamps even when the machine is off. One display module attaches directly to the logic board, four-pin supply terminals speed field wiring, and the keypad bus accepts up to seven membrane key blocks that snap onto the front bezel.
