BECKHOFF EL7201-9014 is an EtherCAT Servomotor terminal. This model is designed to control the motion of proprietary and third-party, 3-phase synchronous motors. The EL7201-9014 is a 1-channel device and it comes with 1 x motor brake output connection, 1 x motor feedback input connection, 1 x STO input connection, and 2 x end position input connections. The connection between the terminal device and the motor can be established over an OCT cable. OCT (one cable technology) is a state-of-the-art cabling technology that eliminates the use of multiple cables for motor and encoder connections. However, only OCT supporting motors can be connected through OCT cables.  

The EL7201-9014 is designed to supply up to 2.8 amperes of current in typical operating conditions. Improvement in the current supply or load-bearing capability of this device is possible with the help of an additional fan module. by inducing cooling airflow across the unit, up to 4.5 amperes of current can be drawn. The integrated PWM clock of this servomotor controller has a frequency of 16 Hz and its current controller frequency is 32 kHz. The BECKHOFF EL7201-9014 is known for its ultra-slim design as it is only 12 millimeters wide and weighs around 60 grams.
