Like most IO-Link terminals, the EL6224-0090 is used to connect at least four IO-Link devices. This can include actuators and sensors. The connection between the terminal and the device is point-to-point. The EL6224-0090 is parameterized through the EtherCAT master. Parameterized data is exchanged bidirectionally via the IO-Link connection owing to its intelligent link between the Fieldbus and sensor. The direct plug-in enables tool-less construction. Thanks to the TwinSAFE SC technology, the use of standard signals in safety tasks in any Fieldbus or network is achievable. This technology allows the operator to achieve a safety level equivalent to PL d/Cat.3 in accordance with EN 62061.

The EL6224-0090 features a 3-wire connection, HD housing that has 16 connection points, and four IO-Link interfaces. It has 24V DC field voltage which is via power contacts and data transfer rates of 4.8 kbaud, 38.4 kbaud, and 230.4 kbaud. A cable with a maximum length of 20 meters should be used between the device and the IO-Link terminal. Supply voltage for electronics is via power contacts and E-bus and the supply current is 500 mA per device. Configuration is via the TwinCAT System master. The EL6224-0090 weighs approx. 60 g.
