The CX5140-0111 is an embedded PC from Beckhoff Automation GmbH that functions as a control system. The system is fitted with an Intel Atom quad-core processor that clocks at 1.9GHz. The device is loaded with Windows Embedded Compact 7 operating system and supports the TwinCAT 2 PLC runtime environment. The compact-size product does not support extension modules. The unit has a low power consumption and fanless design. It helps execute motion control applications using interpolating axis movements. The device is CE Certified and cULus Listed. The embedded PC is available with a one-year warranty period.

The control system comes in a size of 142mm x 100mm x 92mm (W x H x D) and has a weight of 960g. The vibration resistance of the product conforms to EN 60068-2-27 specifications. The device supports a relative humidity up to 95% without condensation. The unit has separate card slots under the front flap for microSD cards and industrial CFast cards. The power supply terminal is capable of recognizing the bus system automatically. The nameplate displays the MAC addresses associated with the Ethernet ports that are integrated into the system. The four USB ports can be used to connect touchscreens, mice, keyboards or other data storage or input devices.

The USB ports of the embedded PCare of Type A and conform to USB 2.0 specification. The two ethernet interfaces are capable of offering 10/100/1000 Mbit speeds. The LEDs present on the left side of the interfaces indicate their connection status. The DVI-I interface is helpful for data transfer and can be connected to an analog monitor or a digital monitor.  The embedded PC supports a maximum resolution of 2560 x 1440.
