The CX5130-0123 is an embedded PC from Beckhoff Automation that performs the function of a control system. The device is used for implementing PLC/motion control or PLC projects with or without visualization. It can also execute motion control applications with interpolating axis movements. The unit has a maximum power consumption of 14W. The control system features an E-bus or K-bus type I/O connection with automatic recognition. The device can be paired with a wide range of optional interfaces. The unit operates using Windows Embedded Standard 7 P 32-bit operating system and supports TwinCAT 2 NC I runtime software.

The control system has a size of 142mm x 100mm x 92mm and weighs approximately 2lbs. When the battery is removed for storage of the device, the preset time and data are lost and must be set once again. The unit must be protected against condensation. If condensation takes place in the unit, the embedded system must be turned on only after waiting for at least 12 hours after the removal of moisture. The eject mechanism of the microSD and CFast cards are based on the push/pull principle. To remove the card from the card slots, they must be pushed gently until a soft clicking sound is heard. This indicates the release of the cards. The cards must then be lifted gently and pulled out of their slots.

The embedded PC has an integrated 1-second UPS persistent memory that can store a maximum of 1MB of persistent data. The device can be ordered with a wide range of optional interfaces that cannot be retrofitted. It has two Gbit Ethernet interfaces that are not dependent on each other along with four USB 2.0 interfaces and a DVI-I interface.
