The CX5020-0100 is an embedded PC from Beckhoff Automation, and is a part of Beckhoff’s CX5000 series of similar PCs. The PC is equipped with an Intel Atom® Z530 processor. The processor has a clocking frequency of 1.6GHz, a single core, and incorporates hyperthreading technology. The PC supports an E-bus interface for EtherCAT terminals. The system features 512MB RAM as the main memory that can be expanded to 1GB. There is a slot to insert a compact flash card and expand the memory storage. The PC also has an integrated 1-second UPS persistent memory on the flashcard. The unit is available with a one-year warranty period. The device incorporates an E-bus interface for EtherCAT terminals. The system has multiple interfaces comprising two RJ45 ports with 10/100/1000 Mbit/s connectivity, an optional interface, four USB 2.0 ports and a DVI-D port. The unit’s dimensions are 100 x 106 x 92mm (W x H x D). It is not compatible with any Windows operating system or TwinCAT control software. The PC encompasses a protection class of IP 20. The system has a dielectric strength of 500V. The front cover of the system has a battery compartment under it. The battery must be lifted out of the bracket using a screwdriver.

The PC is UL Listed and CE Certified. The system operates at temperatures ranging between -25°C and +60°C. The device has a permissible humidity level of 95% without condensation. The unit has an LED setup for diagnostics. It supports PROFIBUS and CANopen master and slave interfaces through 9-pin D-sub sockets and plugs respectively. The PC should be allowed to adjust to room temperature before it is operated. The system is intended for installation in control cabinets.
