Product Description:

The EMP-A-20 amplifier board is a regulated power supply module produced by Vickers within the Vickers Amplifier Boards series. Designed for cabinet installation in industrial control systems, the board converts plant mains power into stable DC rails for proportional valve drivers, relay coils, and other low-voltage automation loads. By integrating input protection, rectification, and multiple output stages on one card, the unit simplifies panel wiring and ensures that downstream electronics receive consistent voltage even when line conditions fluctuate.

Factory configuration expects an input of 115 V AC at 50/60 Hz; line energy passes through a 1 A Time-Delay fuse that guards the board against inrush and sustained overloads. After rectification and filtering, the main rail presents 20 V DC with no load and can deliver up to 2.5 A DC for solenoids or analog circuits. Under a 10 % change in line voltage, main regulation remains within 12 %, and across a 0–2.5 A load swing it also stays inside the same 12 % band, preventing large excursions that would disturb actuator response.

When the facility supplies 230 V AC instead of the nominal value, jumpers allow quick reconnection without additional hardware. A secondary rail produces 12 V DC at up to 200 mA per leg, supporting sensor logic; its line regulation of 0.05 V and load regulation of 0.03 V maintain reference accuracy for feedback circuits. Output ripple on the main rail is limited to 0.6 V RMS, minimizing noise propagation into servo amplifiers. The board operates in ambient temperatures to 65 °C and, at 4.1 kg, installs easily in standard card racks.
