Installed in hydraulic valve controllers, it converts low-level electrical commands into proportional solenoid current so that flow or pressure can be modulated in closed-loop industrial automation.
The board is energized from a system rail of 24 VDC, and it also sources an auxiliary control supply of +15 VDC for external transducers. A 0 to ±10 V reference signal sees a 47 kΩ input impedance, while a separate 0 to ±20 mA command path is terminated by 100 Ω. The feed-forward summing node is isolated by 6 kΩ, allowing velocity-type signals without upsetting loop stability. Additional circuitry includes a 10 kΩ ramp generator input that pairs with a 10 kΩ ramp active output, a 10 kΩ monitor point for diagnostic scopes, and a 50 Ω drive-zero output that lets service personnel null the stage. Dual reference outputs supply ±10 V at 5 mA each to bias external potentiometers or position sensors.
Protective functions are handled by an alarm driver that can sink or source up to 50 mA through a resistor of 50 Ω, giving PLCs a clean fault contact. Sensor feedback options include a current input that repeats the earlier 100 Ω termination and a voltage input buffered by 1 MΩ, preventing load on delicate transducers. For field tuning, the monitor test jack and the ramp active output share a high-impedance path of 10 kΩ, so oscilloscopes can be connected without altering the command profile or disturbing the hydraulic response.
