The EEA-PAM-568-C-30 is a slide-in power amplifier card manufactured by Vickers for the EEA-PAM Power Amplifiers series. Designed to occupy a standard Eurocard slot, it interfaces with proportional valve coils and converts low-level command references into regulated drive currents. Within an automation panel it modulates hydraulic actuators, giving the machine builder a compact means of managing motion profiles directly from PLC or analog controllers.
Its electronic section is supplied from a nominal system rail of 24 VDC, while the control stage uses a stabilized dual line of ±15 V at only 50 mA; this split arrangement separates load power from signal conditioning and limits noise on feedback loops. Overall consumption stays below 40 W, so cabinet thermal management remains uncomplicated. A gain trimmer with 20 turns gives fine resolution when matching valve stroke to command levels, and a separate 20-turn ramp potentiometer lets maintenance staff tune acceleration or deceleration without external devices. Reference sources may use the on-board ±10 V node or the constant 5 mA current output, eliminating the need for external signal conditioners. Should the supply drop toward 18 VDC the amplifier shuts down to protect connected solenoids; reverse-polarity diodes prevent damage if the rack wiring is misconnected. All functions stay active after a fault because ramp values, gain settings, and the automatic recovery logic restore normal operation without manual intervention.
