The EEA-PAM-541-D-30 is a plug-in power amplifier card produced by Vickers for the EEA-PAM Power Amplifiers series. Mounted in a back-plane rack, it drives proportional solenoids on hydraulic valves, converting low-level voltage or current reference signals into accurate load current. This function lets machine controllers close the motion loop on pressure, flow, or position, giving repeatable hydraulic actuation within presses, injection molding machines, and other automation cells. The card receives its supply from the main valve cabinet and fits standard Eurocard dimensions.

Electrical interfacing is through a DIN 41612 F48 Male connector that carries power, command, and feedback lines. The output stage delivers up to 3.2 A to the valve coil, and a Drive-zero node presents 50 Ω for offset measurement. The alarm circuit also uses a 50 Ω resistor. The voltage command port shows 47 kΩ input impedance, while the feed-forward path is fixed at 6 kΩ. The sensor channel is buffered by 1 MΩ to protect the LVDT signal. A 10 kΩ monitor point and identical 10 kΩ values on the ramp input and active network set the diagnostic load and acceleration profile.

Internal references simplify wiring. The card supplies +15 V for LVDT excitation. External electronics can draw either the Positive Reference at +10 V × 5 mA or the Negative Reference at -10 V × 5 mA. Control logic draws 1.7 A at 0 V so the valve remains centered during start-up. Current command inputs terminate in 100 Ω for 4–20 mA loops, and the voltage command path already described shares the 47 kΩ buffer for ±10 V ranges. A 10 kΩ ramp network sets motion timing, and an internal watchdog forwards alarm status to the back-plane without additional loading.
