The EEA-PAM-535-A-21 is a type A amplifier from Vickers that is designed for proportional control valves in industrial hydraulic systems. It operates with a nominal 24 V DC supply and its acceptance range id from 20 to 40 V DC. This amplifier has built-in reverse polarity protection and its reference outputs are ±15 V and ±10 V, with low ripple values.
The EEA-PAM-535-A-21 amplifier offers voltage and current inputs, it accepts ±10 V voltage signals with 47 kΩ input resistance and also supports ±20 mA current signals with 100 Ω resistance. It has independent potentiometers for dead-band and gain control. The dead-band compensation is factory set at 10% spool stroke and it is adjustable in a range from 0 to 50%, while its gain is set at 10% per volt and is adjustable. This unit uses pulse width modulation for solenoid drive control and its maximum solenoid current is rated as 2.7 A, while at zero command signal the input current is about 0.3 A. All its output channels are short circuit protected and a built-in dither function is factory set for improved response. The EEA-PAM amplifier’s ramp for acceleration and deceleration is available with adjustment through a separate potentiometer that can be set between 50 ms to 5 seconds.
The EEA-PAM-535-A-21 amplifier offers clear monitoring functions, its monitor point MP1 provides conditioned command signals after internal adjustments and the MP2 point is for solenoid current or LVDT spool position. Its alarm output indicates overload/failure with clear status changes and the LEDs on the front panel confirm supply, drive, ramp and fault status. This amplifier is built in a 3U Eurocard format and it uses a DIN 41612 F48 male connector that mates with the recommended F48 female version.
