The EEA-PAM-533-B-32 is a plug-in power amplifier card produced by Vickers within the EEA-PAM Power Amplifiers series. In hydraulic motion control loops, this card modulates current to proportional valve solenoids so that a controller can convert low-level command voltages into the fluid power required by actuators on automated machinery. It fits into standardized rack systems and provides the interface between an electronic command source and a directional or pressure control valve, ensuring repeatable flow characteristics and fast response in presses, injection molding equipment, and other closed-loop industrial processes.

Designed for bus systems that supply 24 VDC, the board can dissipate up to 50 W during continuous operation. A protected output stage delivers as much as 2.7 A to a proportional solenoid, while only 0.3 A is taken from the supply when the command signal is at 0 V. The internal reference network offers a stable +10 VDC 10 mA source for external set-point generators and maintains a reference of ±10 VDC at 1 % accuracy; each reference can supply 5 mA without saturation. Four 50 kΩ on-board potentiometers permit field adjustment of gain, ramp, dither, and bias, and a separate +15 VDC rail feeds the control electronics.

Signal integrity is maintained by a 47 kΩ voltage input path for ±10 V commands and a 100 Ω current input path when the loop is driven in 4–20 mA mode. A programmable ramp generator limits step changes with a minimum rise time of 50 ms to prevent hydraulic shock. All connections are made through a DIN 41612 Type F48 edge connector so the card can slide into a Euro-card backplane without discrete wiring. The module occupies 7.550 in of depth, 1.590 in of width, and rises 5.060 in above the guide rails, allowing dense packing of multiple amplifiers in a single control enclosure.
