The EEA-PAM-533-A-30 is a plug-in power amplifier card manufactured by Vickers for the EEA-PAM Power Amplifiers series. It interfaces between a machine’s controller and a proportional solenoid, converting a ±10 V reference into a controlled coil current that positions hydraulic spool valves. By doing so, the card provides closed-loop control of pressure, speed, or directional functions in automated presses, molding machines, and other electro-hydraulic equipment.

Low-level electronics on the card are energized by a balanced control supply of ±15 VDC drawn at 50 mA; the voltage rails are kept within a ripple of <50 mV pk-pk to prevent offset in the internal comparators. The main power stage accepts a nominal rack voltage of 24 VDC and, at full load, the board dissipates 40 W. A drive disable command applied above 4.5 VDC immediately cuts current to the solenoid. Coil feedback can be observed through a monitor pin that presents a 10 kΩ impedance for test equipment.

The card remains operational as long as the incoming DC rail stays above 18 VDC; below this level an undervoltage latch removes drive to protect the solenoid. Reference commands are provided by an internal generator with ±10 VDC span, ±1 % accuracy, 5 mA sourcing capability, and a ripple of <20 mV pk-pk; temperature drift is limited to <1 mV/°C so signal stability is maintained over typical cabinet variations. The enable line loads the controller through a 22 kΩ input, and the monitored coil current is scaled at 1 V/A so technicians can verify valve excitation with a standard voltmeter. For power quality, the board tolerates supply ripple up to ±10 % pk-pk without affecting current regulation.
