Product Description:

The EEA-PAM-525-B-30 is a plug-in power amplifier card produced by Vickers for the EEA-PAM Power Amplifiers series. When installed in a hydraulic valve control rack, the module converts low-level command signals into proportional coil current so that servo or proportional valves track set points accurately in industrial automation.

This card operates from a nominal supply of 24 VDC, drawing up to 40 W during full load to energize its internal regulators and output stages. It accepts a current reference of 0–20 mA across an internal 100 Ω shunt or a voltage reference of 0–10 V presented to a 47 kΩ input, letting a PLC choose either sourcing mode without recalibration. For downstream electronics, the board provides stabilized control rails of ±15 V, 50 mA; these auxiliary supplies can power feedback transducers or joystick pots located close to the valve. Adjustable integrator capacitors define a ramp time between 50 ms–5 s, smoothing command changes and preventing hydraulic shock when set points shift rapidly.

The enable line is isolated by a 22 kΩ resistor and responds to logic levels from 9.8–40 VDC, allowing the same signal that energizes a pump starter to bring the amplifier online. If the incoming bus drops to the under-voltage threshold of 18 VDC, output stages are disabled to protect the spool from partial actuation. Reference outputs of ±10 V ±1 %, 5 mA are available for sensor excitation, and their temperature drift is limited to less than 1 mV/°C so closed-loop accuracy remains stable over a wide cabinet temperature range.
