The EEA-PAM-513-A-33 is a plug-in power amplifier card manufactured by Vickers within the EEA-PAM Power Amplifiers series. It occupies a single 3U Eurocard slot and mates with a DIN 41612 back-plane connector used across the company’s valve driver racks. Installed in hydraulic control assemblies, it converts low-level command signals into regulated coil currents that actuate proportional solenoid valves. By performing this signal conditioning the board allows a PLC or analog controller to modulate flow or pressure without directly driving the load, providing the essential interface between electronic motion logic and the demanding current requirements of industrial hydraulic systems.

Normal operation is powered from a nominal supply of 24 VDC, and the card dissipates up to 50 W while driving its load. Reverse-polarity circuitry protects the board if supply leads are crossed. With a zero-volt command the output sinks only 0.3 A; at full input it can deliver 1.6 A to energize larger solenoids. Current references enter through a 100 Ω shunt so 10 mA sources create the ±10 V span set by the factory gain of 10 % per volt. For voltage mode the command channel offers 47 kΩ impedance, and the enable node is sensed through 22 kΩ to reduce noise pickup.

An internal watchdog disables output when the rail drops below <18 VDC, preventing valve drift during brownouts. Terminals z22/b22 provide a ±15 V auxiliary rail that can source 50 mA for external electronics. Separate reference pins deliver ±10 V (1 %) and allow 5 mA for remote potentiometers. The card stands only 175.24 mm tall and 128.4 mm wide, fitting standard Eurocard guides.
