Product Description:

The EEA-EDC-436-A2-14 is a plug-in power amplifier card produced by Vickers as part of the EEA-PAM Power Amplifiers series. Intended for closed-loop control of proportional valve solenoids, the card converts low-level command signals into regulated coil currents for accurate flow or pressure adjustment in hydraulic machinery. By integrating reference generators, input conditioning circuits, and a ramp generator, it links a PLC or analog controller to the electromechanical actuator and serves as an interface module in industrial automation systems.

Operating from a nominal 24 V DC rail, the card draws up to 40 W. The voltage channel accepts as much as 10 V against an impedance of 47 kΩ, whereas the current channel is limited to 20 mA and terminated by a 100 Ω resistor. Internal ±10 V references, each able to source 5 mA, and a +15 V auxiliary line rated 50 mA power external set-point hardware. A factory ramp of 50 ms shapes step changes, and the enable gate will pass only when at least 10 V is present on the logic pin.

With the ramp potentiometer opened fully, rise or fall time extends to 2 s. Even at zero command the solenoid receives 1.4 A to combat hysteresis. The power stage tolerates supply ripple up to 4 V pk-pk, but if the bus drops to 19 V DC it shuts down to safeguard the coil. The power input itself must not exceed the previously stated 40 W, and the logic gate that demands a 10 V minimum enable continues to isolate the outputs during commissioning or maintenance work.
