Sanyo Denki’s Super DC servo series is an established product umbrella featuring some of the most versatile motors available on the market today. Under this esteemed product line, the R720-012 originated. Designed and developed as a compact automation machine, the R720-012 features a unique output shaft equipped with a keyway. Like other Super DC servo motors, this product by Sanyo Denki is lightweight and suitable for small and precise automation applications. It comes with a single cable technology, combining all necessary connection cables for the power supply and the built-in encoder.
According to the R720-012’s nameplate, the DC terminal voltage during operation must be at least 75 VDC. At this nominal voltage supply, the motor can achieve a nameplate current of 3.6 A. For servo machines, the current indicated in the nameplate is considered as the RMS value. For DC motors, the RMS value is similar to the continuous current. When operated alongside a compatible Sanyo Denki servo drive, this Super DC motor can operate at a wider speed and torque range. It is also possible to adjust the torque output of the motor to a higher value by adjusting the output speed. At rated shaft velocity, this DC servo motor can achieve both the rated and maximum torque. At the maximum speed, however, the shaft can only transmit the rated torque.
