The M818T-031 is a DC servo motor manufactured by Sanyo Denki for the Super DC Servo Motors series. Designed for closed-loop motion axes, it converts electrical energy into precise rotary movement so that positioning tables, small conveyors, and electronic assembly heads can follow programmed velocity profiles. A tachometer generator is integrated at the rear of the frame to deliver proportional speed feedback directly to the drive electronics, eliminating the need for separate velocity transducers in many industrial automation layouts.
The motor is energized from a nominal supply of 48 VDC; at this voltage, it reaches a rated shaft speed of 3000 rpm. Continuous armature current is limited to 5.3 A, producing a steady torque of 0.6 N·m for routine indexing or tensioning duties. Control circuits must provide at least 10 kΩ of input resistance to meet the minimum load resistance and avoid overloading the tachometer output.
