The RS2A01A2PA5D00 is a servo drive amplifier produced by Sanyo Denki within the R SANMOTION Servo Drives series. It interfaces with external motion controllers to regulate synchronous servomotors by following commanded position, speed, or torque profiles, thereby supporting precise axis movement in automated machinery. Internally, it converts AC line power into controlled motor current and monitors encoder feedback, creating a closed loop that maintains dynamic accuracy under varied loads.
Rated amplifier output reaches 15 A, allowing the drive to deliver sufficient phase current for mid-frame servomotors during acceleration and regenerative braking. Current is generated through an IGBT-based sinusoidal PWM control system that minimizes torque ripple by shaping the stator waveform. Eight user-assignable digital command lines consist of six optocoupler inputs and two line-receiver inputs, which accept limit, home, and emergency-stop signals with built-in isolation. Motion commands arrive through an analog or pulse interface, so the unit can accept ±10 V velocity references or high-speed step-and-direction streams. For single-channel forward and reverse or code-plus-pulse formats, it counts inputs up to 5 Mpps, supporting micron-level indexing at elevated conveyor speeds.
The control electronics and power stage operate from a 200–230 VAC (+10%, -15%), 50/60 Hz supply. The control circuit draws power through a separate low-current tap, while a parallel feed supplies the inverter bus and simplifies wiring. General-purpose inputs can receive signals at 5 VDC ±5% or 12–24 VDC ±10%, avoiding the need for level shifters when compatible field sensors are used. Two-phase pulse trains are accepted at rates up to 1.25 Mpps, providing a separate input mode for high-speed position commands. The encoder monitor can scale feedback by N/32768, 1/N, or N for compatibility with PLC high-speed counters. This adjustable monitor output allows the connected controller to process encoder data at a suitable pulse frequency without changing the motor feedback device.
