RS2A01A0KL5 is an RS2 series servo amplifier with EtherCAT interface. EtherCAT is a high-performance, real-time Ethernet-based fieldbus system developed specifically for industrial automation applications. It was introduced by Beckhoff Automation in 2003 and is now standardized under IEC 61158. The interface is designed for fast data exchange with cycle times less than 100 µs and jitter under 1 µs. This makes the interface ideal for controlling motion, robotics, and other time-sensitive industrial systems. Unlike traditional Ethernet, EtherCAT processes data as it passes through each node, without waiting to receive the whole frame. This drastically reduces latency and improves speed. EtherCAT uses standard Ethernet cables and connectors which makes it compatible with existing Ethernet network infrastructure. Input voltage rating of the amplifier is 200 Volts AC.
The output capacity is 15 Amps. The amplifier is designed for serial encoder input. External dimensions of the RS2A01A0KL5 unit are 160 x 40 x 130 millimeters.
