Product Description:
The RS1L05AL is another subproduct of Sanyo Denki’s powerful Sanmotion R series. Particularly, it classifies as a single-axis servo amplifier, capable of monitoring and controlling servomotors in a single axis. This device is designed to handle rotary motors that operate at continuous time. The RS1L05AL has a nominal capacity of 50 A, making it suitable for the most demanding and robust applications. To operate at nameplate conditions, this unit requires an alternating voltage supply of 200 V. Both its control power and power input require 200 VAC. Considering this amplifier’s ampere capacity and voltage supply, an internal registration resistor is incorporated within its main circuit board.
The RS1L05AL utilizes CANopen, which is a straightforward communication protocol based on the standard CAN protocol. Along with its CANopen interface, the RS1L05AL can also optionally support an absolute encoder or a wire-saving incremental encoder. With an absolute encoder, higher monitoring precision and resolution can be achieved. The RS1L05AL has an NPN output, which drains current to ground when active. Depending on the intended application, signal conversion may be necessary to accommodate external devices that are constrained to support only PNP inputs. At a nominal DC voltage of 24 V, the common output node can achieve a maximum current of 50 mA.
In general, the RS1L05AL supports varying bit rates ranging from 10 kbps to 1 Mbps. A 2-port RJ-45 modular connector can be used to establish CANopen communication. For this device, pin 1 and pin 2 of the RJ-45 connector correspond to the high bus line and low bus line, respectively. Meanwhile, pins 3 and 7 act as the ground, and pin 6 is for the cable shield.
Frequently Asked Questions about RS1L05AL:
Q: What is the maximum bus length supported by the RS1L05AL to achieve maximum bit rate?
A: To achieve maximum bit rate, the bus length must not be longer than 25 meters.
Q: What is the purpose of pin 5 in the RS1L05AL’s RJ45 connector?
A: Pin 5 of the RS1L05AL’s RJ-45 connector serves as the terminator. When shorted with pin 1, it can perform terminating functions.
Q: What are the maximum nodes per segment supported by the RS1L05AL?
A: The RS1L05AL can support 1 to 127 nodes per segment, configurable using R-setup software.
Q: How can I choose the bit rate for the RS1L05AL?
A: To choose a desired bit rate for the RS1L05AL, you must configure it on the R-setup software.
Q: What modes of operation are supported by the RS1L05AL?
A: The RS1L05AL supports housing mode, profile velocity mode, profile torque mode, profile position mode, and interpolated position mode.
