Product Description:

The RS1L03AL belongs to the R SANMOTION Servo Drives series manufactured by Sanyo Denki. It is a servo drive intended to regulate the torque and speed of matched SANMOTION motors in automated machinery, enabling precise motion control despite changes in mechanical load. By converting incoming three-phase power and exchanging command and status signals over a CANopen fieldbus, the unit fits into distributed control architectures used in packaging lines, pick-and-place systems, and assembly stations.

The amplifier section can deliver up to 30 A of continuous output current to the motor phases. It draws its main power from a three-phase AC supply in the 200 VAC system class. Control electronics receive single-phase auxiliary power, and a built-in regenerative resistor dissipates excess energy during rapid deceleration. The drive exchanges messages through the CAN interface at a default rate of 500 kbps. The physical layer follows the ISO 11898 high-speed CAN standard, allowing the drive to communicate with compatible industrial nodes. Safe Torque Off is not provided; therefore, an external safety relay is required when torque must be removed from the motor. Command outputs use the sink, or NPN, configuration for connection to compatible PLC input cards.

On a properly terminated segment, the signal can travel up to 25 m at 1 Mbps, and as many as 127 nodes may share the bus when their addresses are assigned correctly. A 120 Ω terminator must be placed at each end of the trunk to maintain impedance and prevent signal reflections. The fieldbus cable enters through a modular RJ-45 connector, while the dedicated terminal block accepts a single-phase AC supply for the control electronics. The CANopen link layer provides standard device profiles for motion-control objects, including position, velocity, and diagnostic data. Sink-type command outputs and separate control-power terminals allow the communication and control circuits to be wired independently of the motor power connections.
