Product Description:
The RS1E01AA servo drive is manufactured by Sanyo Denki and belongs to the R SANMOTION Servo Drives series. The device functions as a current-controlled amplifier that converts single-phase mains power into regulated motor currents while monitoring incremental feedback for precise position control. By accepting pulse-and-direction commands from external motion controllers, it supports high-speed indexing in pick-and-place lines, packaging equipment, and other automated machinery.
The drive operates from a nominal supply of 100 V AC, which is the input level its power stage and control logic are designed to handle. It can deliver up to 15 A of continuous phase current, establishing the maximum steady-state torque available to the connected servomotor. Command inputs accept pulse streams as fast as 5 Mpps, allowing very small incremental moves when the mechanical resolution requires them. Rotor position is returned through a wire-saving incremental encoder that provides 2000 P/R, giving the controller 8,000 quadrature counts per revolution. Status and alarm lines use an NPN (sink) configuration, allowing the drive to share a common reference with standard PLC inputs. A torque-limit terminal interprets a ±2.0 V signal with a 15% tolerance to restrict peak mechanical loads, while leakage current to protective earth is limited to 0.5 mA.
The housing is 168 mm tall, 45 mm wide, and 160 mm deep, enabling multiple axes to mount side by side on a DIN rail without increasing enclosure depth. With a mass of 0.9 kg, the module places a relatively small load on the mounting rail while providing sufficient thermal mass for passive cooling. Continuous operation is permitted at ambient temperatures up to 55 °C, and reliable performance is maintained at relative humidity levels as high as 90%. The wire-saving encoder layout reduces the number of feedback conductors required in compact control cabinets while preserving the signal path used for position monitoring.
