Product Description:
The RS1A15AE0D0 is a servo drive produced by Sanyo Denki for the R SANMOTION Servo Drives series. It converts three-phase AC power into controlled sinusoidal motor voltage using an IGBT PWM scheme, providing precise torque and velocity control for pick-and-place robots, packaging machinery, and similar motion axes. The unit is built as a tray-type assembly with an onboard power supply, and an integrated dynamic brake dissipates kinetic energy during emergency deceleration. By driving standard low-inertia servo motors, it shortens settling time and simplifies servo-loop tuning on multi-axis gantries.
The drive accepts an AC 200 V supply and sustains carrier operation up to 600 Hz, enabling fine waveform resolution at high shaft speeds. Closed-loop regulation remains linear across a 1:5000 speed-control range, so the same axis can move slowly for inspection or accelerate to production speed without retuning. Regenerated energy of up to 120 W is routed through the internal 6 Ω resistor, preventing DC-bus overvoltage during rapid deceleration. Speed feedback is available as a 2.0 V ±10% analog signal that represents the motor speed in real time for external monitoring.
Installation planning must also account for startup current, shock, and vibration limits. The control circuit can draw up to 40 A for 1 ms when power is first applied, while the main converter side reaches 18 A for 1.2 seconds; breakers and contactors must be able to tolerate these peaks to avoid nuisance trips. Continuous leakage current to ground is limited to 3.0 mA per connected motor. The housing withstands 2G shock and 0.5 G vibration, and the fully populated chassis weighs 6.5 kg, allowing it to be panel-mounted without external damping. A matched torque-monitor output of 2.0 V ±10% provides proportional load information to a PLC for process verification.
