Product Description:
The RS1A05AC is a servo drive produced by Sanyo Denki as part of the R SANMOTION Servo Drives series. Designed to command rotary servomotors in automated machines, the unit converts plant-level AC input into regulated phase currents so the host controller can close position, speed, and torque loops. Its built-in positioning functions allow stand-alone axis control, reducing the PLC load in multi-axis assemblies.
The amplifier section can deliver 50 A of peak current to the motor windings, supporting rapid acceleration under transient loads. Both the main and control stages accept an input of AC 200 V, simplifying cabinet wiring by eliminating the need for a separate low-voltage supply. The drive includes a built-in positioning table that executes motion sequences internally while the external controller issues only start triggers. An internal regenerative resistor dissipates excess energy during deceleration, eliminating the need for a separate brake module on axes with moderate inertia. The enclosure has a depth of 135.5 mm, allowing installation in shallow control cabinets where rear clearance is limited. Its transistor output interface is the NPN type, allowing direct connection to compatible sourcing I/O cards.
The enclosure stands 168 mm high and measures 90 mm wide, giving it a compact front-panel footprint for space-limited control cabinets. Its mass is 2.2 kg, so the mounting surface does not need to support a large additional load. The drive can operate at up to 90% RH, provided condensation is prevented within the cabinet. Position feedback options include a battery-backed absolute encoder that retains multi-turn position data during power loss and a wire-saving incremental encoder that reduces the number of feedback conductors. The drive is intended for rotary motors and attaches to control panels with M4 mounting screws. These mounting provisions allow the housing to be secured without special brackets or adapters.
