Product Description:
The RS1A03ALW servo amplifier is produced by Sanyo Denki for the R SANMOTION Servo Drives series. The unit functions as the power stage that links a motion controller to a rotary servomotor. It regulates current and voltage so automated equipment can follow commanded speed or position profiles with precision. This control allows the connected motor to respond accurately to changing motion commands in automated machinery.
Its power section has an amplifier capacity of 30 A, allowing it to deliver peak phase current to midsize rotary motors without saturation. The main power input accepts three-phase AC200 V, while a separate control circuit also uses an AC200 V supply so logic and power share the same voltage level. Communication with higher-level controllers is provided through a CANopen interface that carries motion commands and diagnostic data on a single twisted pair. Energy returned during deceleration is dissipated by a built-in regenerative resistor, eliminating the need for an external brake module. Position feedback can be provided by a battery-backup absolute encoder or a wire-saving incremental encoder. The absolute encoder allows the drive to retain position after power loss, while the incremental encoder reduces cabling in installations with many axes.
The housing has a width of 60 mm, a depth of 160 mm, and a height of 168 mm, allowing multiple units to be arranged on a panel with predictable airflow spacing. Four mounting slots with 5 mm holes secure the drive without additional brackets. Acceptable ambient temperatures range from 0 to 55 °C, allowing operation across typical temperature conditions inside machinery enclosures. The amplifier can also operate at up to 90% RH under noncondensing conditions. Adequate panel spacing helps air move around the housing and prevents nearby components from obstructing heat dissipation. The mounting slots support direct attachment to the enclosure panel and keep the amplifier stable during machine operation.
