Product Description:
The RS1A03AC servo drive is produced by Sanyo Denki and belongs to the R SANMOTION Servo Drives series. It functions as a single-axis amplifier that interfaces with motion controllers to modulate the current and voltage delivered to a brushless servo motor, thereby governing speed, position, and torque in automated assembly lines, pick-and-place stations, or packaging equipment. By integrating feedback from both absolute and incremental encoders, the unit maintains precise loop control, while its built-in dynamic brake shortens motor deceleration times during emergency stops.
The power section supports an amplifier capacity of 30 A, providing enough peak current for rapid acceleration of medium-frame servo motors. Control is organized around a single axis, so all signal-processing resources focus on one mechanical load. Both the control-power input and the main-power stage operate from a common industrial supply of 200 V AC, which simplifies cabinet wiring and eliminates the need for separate transformers. The drive measures 160 mm in depth and 168 mm in height; these dimensions enable front-panel mounting in narrow enclosures while leaving room above and below the heat sink for airflow. The chassis incorporates a wire-saving incremental encoder port and a battery-backed absolute encoder connector, reducing cable count and preserving position data during a power loss.
A mass of 1.0 kg eases handling during installation and minimizes the load on the mounting rails. Up to 8 position zones can be configured for zone-based indexing, and the internal register allows 254 high-speed registration points for tasks such as labeling or punching. The selectable output stage is the NPN type, making it compatible with common PLC inputs. An internal speed-control range of 1:5000 enables fine velocity adjustments from crawl speed to rated rpm without external gear changes. The lack of an internal regeneration resistor keeps the housing compact, while its 50 mm width supports dense side-by-side installation of multiple drives.
