The RS1A03AA is a servo drive manufactured by Sanyo Denki for the R SANMOTION Servo Drives series. Designed to regulate a connected rotary motor in automated machinery, the unit converts three-phase mains power into controlled current for closed-loop positioning. It operates within the 200 V input class and supports compatible rotary motors through its feedback circuitry. With a front width of 50 mm, the module fits narrow spaces in control cabinets while leaving room for adjacent components. The drive is supplied without an internal regeneration resistor, so external braking hardware must dissipate excess kinetic energy when the application produces regenerative power.
The power stage can supply up to 30 A of continuous output current, providing sufficient capacity for sustained motor torque. The control electronics are supplied by a dedicated 200 V AC rail through a single-phase circuit. The main inverter accepts a three-phase input of the same voltage class and delivers regulated power to the motor windings. Commands are processed through an analog or pulse interface, allowing the host controller to use either a ±10 V velocity command or high-resolution pulse trains. The feedback channel uses the Type S Absolute System, and a selectable NPN output format is available for status signals and alarm circuits.
Thermal management relies on a fan-cooled enclosure that moves air across the heat sink when the internal temperature sensor activates the blower. Installation requires a vertical clearance of 168 mm and a mounting depth of 135.5 mm to provide adequate chassis space and maintain unobstructed airflow. The drive controls a single axis, so machinery with multiple axes requires a separate module for each additional motor.
