Product Description:
The RRPAA00 is a power unit manufactured by Sanyo Denki for the R SANMOTION Servo Drives series. It serves as the common DC source inside a multi-axis servo system, converting incoming three-phase line power into a stabilized bus that feeds the individual amplifier cards. By concentrating power conversion in one chassis element, the module reduces cabinet wiring, supports coordinated acceleration profiles, and simplifies thermal management for machine tools, pick-and-place lines, and general automation equipment. The unit also integrates braking energy absorption and system monitoring circuits needed for safe regenerative operation.
Its input section accepts AC 200 V three-phase power and rectifies it to a nominal DC 280 V distribution rail shared by the drives. Within that range, the module supports amplifier current ratings of 15 A and 30 A, providing two current classes on the same bus. A built-in regeneration resistor dissipates excess kinetic energy, so no external braking hardware is required. Total output is limited to 2000 W, and internal logic limits the system to six axes when the connected amplifiers are in the 15 A class and four axes when they are in the 30 A class. Command signals are routed through a pulse-train interface, maintaining synchronization with external motion controllers while the unit reports status over the backplane.
The housing is 140.7 mm deep, 122.8 mm high, and 100 mm wide, allowing dense stacking on DIN rails or panel plates. Backplane configuration options support four, six, or eight slots, allowing the system to be scaled without changing the power section. Only one RRPAA00 power unit is installed per rack. Its three-phase input terminals align with the top edge to simplify power-cable routing. Shielded motor cables can be routed beneath the drive row, helping separate them from the incoming power conductors and control wiring.
