Product Description:
The PY9A300U0XXXC07 is a high-capacity servo amplifier built by Sanyo Denki for the PY Super BL Servo Amplifiers series. By converting DC bus energy into three-phase, pulse-width-modulated current, the module drives brushless servo motors used in pick-and-place, packaging, and other positioning tasks. It also supervises regenerative energy and braking functions so that commanded motion profiles can be repeated with tight speed and position accuracy across extended production cycles.
With a maximum output of 300 A, the power stage supplies the peak currents demanded during rapid acceleration. A control loop bandwidth of 400 Hz lets the drive track high-frequency velocity references without significant phase lag. The velocity control range is rated at 1:5000, supporting slow index moves as well as full-speed traverses from a single tuning set. During emergency stops, the circuit absorbs up to 14,000 J of mechanical energy, and excess energy can be diverted to an external resistor bank rated at 9,000 W. Because no built-in regenerative resistor is present, terminals are provided for this accessory. Analog diagnostics include velocity and current monitor ports, and a maximum monitor output of ±10 V extends the available test points.
A main inrush current of 30 A is drawn when the tray-type power supply charges its bus capacitors, so upstream breakers must tolerate that brief surge. Real-time phase current is reflected at a monitor pin with a scaling of 2.0 V ±20%, while actual motor speed appears on a separate line with a scaling tolerance of 2.0 V ±10%. The dynamic brake engages after only 42 ms, limiting shaft overrun when control is lost. The housing weighs 16 kg, making secure cabinet support necessary during installation. Its open tray structure allows air to circulate through the amplifier when it is installed in a standard control cabinet.
