Product Description:
The PY2A030E0XXYPH2 is a servo amplifier engineered by Sanyo Denki within the PY Super BL Servo Amplifiers series. It converts 200 VAC input power into regulated three-phase output that drives matched Super BL servomotors, forming the core of position and velocity loops in machine tools, pick-and-place modules, and packaging lines. By integrating current, velocity, and dynamic brake functions, the unit supplies tightly controlled torque for precise axis motion.
The continuous output capacity is 30 A, allowing the power stage to deliver rated current across the entire velocity range. A frequency response of 400 Hz keeps phase lag low so the drive can track command changes in high-bandwidth systems. Closed-loop speed resolution reaches 1:5000, meaning the commanded velocity can be adjusted in 0.02% increments without parameter changes. The analog current monitor provides an output of 0.5 V ±20% at 100% load, allowing motor load to be monitored, while a separate velocity monitor provides 0.5 V ±20% at 1,000 rpm for tachometer-free tuning. During startup, the main inrush current is 23 A, and leakage current is limited to 0.5 mA per motor to comply with ground-fault safety limits. Because the unit has no built-in regenerative resistor, installations with frequent deceleration must use an external resistor to dissipate excess energy.
The amplifier housing measures 168 mm in height and 135 mm in depth, and it weighs 2.0 kg, allowing multiple units to be installed without placing excessive loads on cabinet supports. Forced-air cooling directs fresh air across the heat sink, maintaining rated output while the internal power unit accepts 200 VAC and operates a dynamic brake circuit. This brake activates within 10 ms and can absorb 360 J of kinetic energy before external dissipation is required. The control-stage inrush current reaches 40 A, so upstream protection devices must tolerate the brief surge. Adequate airflow must be maintained around the housing to prevent heat from accumulating near adjacent equipment. Cabinet wiring should also provide suitable separation between power conductors and low-level control signals to reduce electrical interference.
