The PY2A030A3-AL belongs to the PY2 servo amplifier product series that was developed by Sanyo Denki to represent an improvement over the earlier PY amplifier designs. It can maintain the same level of performance as the PY product series, with the added advantage of downsizing. This amplifier design is built to comply with level 2 pollution degree; it is not dust or waterproof, and it requires installation into a switchgear cabinet that is able to effectively protect it from these foreign elements. The amplifier meets the UL, and CUL standards according to UL 508C; it also meets the low voltage directive according to EN 50178. The input voltage of this product is approximately 200 volts, it comes with a dynamic brake and has an amplifier capacity of about 30 amperes. The amplifier is also able to operate with a wiring-saved incremental encoder or request signal-unavailable absolute encoder design.

Unlike the conventional PY amplifier design, the PY2A030A3-AL is assumed to be operated with multiple axes; there is no fuse built into its main power supply unit. There are significantly fewer noise filters built into this product compared to the earlier PY series; however, the improved internal circuits of the amplifier make up for the difference in providing impressive noise-proofing. This amplifier design also does not have a regenerative resistor.

The PY2A030A3-AL servo amplifier is able to able to slow down revolution angle during motor deceleration at a rate that is more than twice that of the conventional PY amplifier series.
