Product Description:
The PY0A030J05ABB00 servo amplifier is produced by Sanyo Denki as part of the PY Super BL Servo Amplifiers series. It sits between a motion controller and a servomotor, converting command signals into regulated current and providing dynamic braking so automated axes can start, stop, and hold with accuracy. Operating from factory three-phase mains, the unit is used in conveyors, pick-and-place modules, and web-handling lines where compact regeneration hardware helps keep panel layouts simple.
The power section accepts a three-phase supply and is classified as a 200 VAC type with a dynamic brake, so no external brake resistor is required for most cycles. The control electronics withstand a startup surge of 40 A, while the main input inrush is limited to 18 A to accommodate standard circuit breakers. The velocity loop remains linear across a ratio of 1:5000, and a frequency response of 400 Hz allows the drive to follow rapid command changes without excessive overshoot. Regeneration is processed internally, with the transistor network directing excess motor energy to a built-in resistor. Terminal screws can be tightened to 1.18 N·m to secure the supply and motor leads.
The resistor element has a resistance of 50 Ω and a power rating of 20 W, providing continuous absorption for light reversing loads. A dynamic-brake delay of 6.5 ms allows the circuit to clamp the shaft quickly after a stop command. During full-speed deceleration, the circuit can store up to 360 J before dissipation begins, protecting the DC bus from overvoltage events. Duct cooling is not supported, so the 2.2 kg enclosure relies on natural convection around its aluminum fins. Mounting holes threaded for M5 hardware simplify installation on panel backplates, while the rigid chassis supports stable operation during velocity changes.
