Product Description:
The PY0A015J0M88B00 is a digital servo amplifier produced by Sanyo Denki for the PY Super BL Servo Amplifiers series. Designed to modulate three-phase motor windings from its AC bus, the unit accepts velocity and current commands from a motion controller and returns encoder feedback. Within industrial automation cells, it drives brushless servomotors that position actuators, index rotary tables, or regulate web tension with closed-loop accuracy.
Its power stage can source up to 15 A of continuous phase current, and the analog velocity channel reaches full scale when a 10 V reference is applied. That reference is interpreted at 500 rpm/V, so a 6 V signal commands 3000 rpm. A dedicated limiter input saturates at 2 V, allowing external circuitry to limit torque before faults occur. At startup, the control section draws a surge of 40 A and then settles to 0.2 A; the supporting logic budget is 40 VA. A 5 V supply sourced inside the amplifier powers the incremental encoder. Signal wiring terminates at a 50-pin Cn1 connector, while motor feedback and brake lines are routed through a 20-pin Cn2 header. Control and power domains are isolated to reduce ground-loop noise.
During bus energization, the DC link draws 18 A of inrush current through its soft-start network. Excess regenerative energy is dissipated by an internal resistor rated at 20 W, and an external module can handle up to 220 W when heavier loads decelerate. The drive’s brake circuit is armed almost immediately. The motor terminals are shorted after a delay of 6.5 ms once a fault or disable signal is detected. Main power is supplied from a three-phase 200 VAC line, and the chassis keeps the power section isolated from the low-level controls. These timings and energy paths support proper sizing of relays, contactors, and bus capacitors without exceeding thermal limits.
