Product Description:
The P80B22450RCX2A is a brushless AC servo motor manufactured by Sanyo Denki within the P8 Super BL Servo Motors series. Classified as a brushless motor, it is intended for precision positioning stages, pick-and-place arms, and other automated axes where regulated torque and speed are required. The unit is equipped with a holding brake, so vertical loads remain fixed during a power loss, while its Class F insulation supports the elevated winding temperatures associated with continuous industrial service.
At its rated operating point, the motor produces 4.5 kW of mechanical power. This output is delivered as 21.5 N·m of torque at a shaft speed of 2,000 rpm, giving motion controllers a balanced speed-to-torque ratio for medium-duty axes. When the shaft is held in position, the motor can sustain a continuous stall torque of 32.0 N·m, while starting and rapid indexing sequences can use a peak torque of 70.0 N·m before thermal limits intervene. To meet these demands, the amplifier supplies 24.1 Arms during normal operation and 31.6 Arms under stall conditions. These current values are coordinated with a 33 ms electrical time constant and a phase resistance of 0.043 Ω to keep current transients predictable.
The drive section must also accommodate an instantaneous current of 79.7 Arms, enabling the motor’s power-rate capability of 80 kW/s during acceleration bursts. A 220 mm square flange aligns the motor with heavy-duty gearboxes, and the shaft seal and housing carry an IP67 rating to prevent dust or washdown water from compromising the bearings. The integral brake coil accepts 24 V control power, allowing the controller to hold or release the load without an auxiliary contactor. A torque constant of 1.05 N·m/Arms relates commanded current to produced torque. The brushless design and balanced windings support a maximum speed of 2,500 rpm while reducing the maintenance associated with brushes and mechanical commutation.
