Product Description:
The P50C07040HXS21 is an AC servo motor produced by Sanyo Denki as part of the P5 Super BL Servo Motors series. Designed for industrial automation, the motor converts electrical input from a matching drive into controlled rotary motion for positioning tooling, conveyors, or indexing equipment with high repeatability. Integrated incremental feedback allows the controller to close speed and position loops, making the motor suitable for machinery that requires precise dynamic response.
Its rated output is 400 W, providing continuous shaft power for medium-duty axes. The stator windings belong to the 200 VAC voltage class, so the drive and coil insulation must be compatible with this supply. The motor has a winding-to-frame dielectric strength of 1,500 VAC for one minute. Its insulation resistance is at least 10 MΩ when measured at 500 VDC, helping indicate the condition of the winding insulation. The enclosure provides IP55 protection except at the shaft end, limiting the entry of dust and water jets in typical factory installations. The rated rotating speed is 3,000 rpm, and the drive regulates this speed using encoder feedback. These electrical characteristics must be considered when selecting the associated servo drive, protective equipment, and motor cabling.
A ball screw with a maximum diameter of 20 mm can be driven directly when the axis is properly coupled to the shaft. Position data is generated by a reduced-wiring incremental encoder with a resolution of 2,000 P/R, allowing the controller to divide each revolution into 0.18-degree increments. The square mounting face uses a 76 mm flange pattern for connection to compatible compact gearheads and machine assemblies. The motor is supplied without a holding brake, so an external brake or another holding method is required when a stationary load must be secured after power is removed. A 0.75 mm² power lead carries the motor current from the drive. Feedback connections use a UL2844 AWG26 sensor cable containing four conductor pairs.
