The P50B05020DXS9BM servo motor is built by Sanyo Denki for the P5 Super BL Servo Motors series, internally indexed as the P5 motor family. This brushless design delivers a rated mechanical output of 200 W while keeping size and maintenance requirements low. It is supplied without a holding brake, so an external mechanism must secure the load when power is removed. CE and UL approvals allow installation in control cabinets intended for global markets, and the unit is suitable for positioning axes, pick-and-place heads, and similar motion functions in automated equipment.
The motor sustains a continuous stall torque of 0.686 N·m, providing stable low-speed force for static loads. Under rated conditions, it develops 0.637 N·m at a shaft speed of 3,000 rpm, drawing 1.6 A RMS through a 3.4 Ω phase winding. A 2.9 ms electrical time constant limits the rate at which winding current rises. Position feedback comes from a wiring-saving incremental encoder that generates 2,000 pulses per revolution, simplifying the connection to the drive. The 54 mm square flange supports mounting to compact gearboxes, and the IP55 enclosure blocks dust and low-pressure water jets in plant-floor applications. The combination of low resistance and a short electrical time constant allows compatible servo amplifiers to use high-bandwidth current control without excessive voltage overhead.
Dynamic operation is supported by a peak stall torque of 1.96 N·m and a momentary current limit of 5.5 A RMS, enabling rapid acceleration of the 0.173 × 10⁻⁴ kg·m² rotor. When the commanded velocity increases, the motor can reach 4,500 rpm, while its torque constant of 0.436 N·m/A RMS relates drive current to the resulting torque for control-loop tuning. The low rotor inertia supports quick changes in speed during indexing, material handling, and pick-and-place motion.
