Product Description:
The P50B05020DXS50 is a brushless AC servo motor produced by Sanyo Denki and supplied through the P5 Super BL Servo Motors series. Designed for positioning and speed-control applications in machine tools, packaging lines, and pick-and-place systems, the unit converts 200 V-class drive power into controlled rotary motion. A wiring-saving incremental encoder on the rear flange reports shaft position to the drive, allowing closed-loop regulation without external sensors. Because the motor does not have a holding brake, drive torque or a mechanical lock must maintain the shaft position when power is removed.
The motor delivers a continuous output of 200 W while producing a rated torque of 0.637 N·m at a shaft speed of 3000 rpm. This operating point represents the motor’s thermal and electromagnetic limits during steady-state duty. Power input is matched to a 200 VAC supply, making the winding insulation and magnetic circuit suitable for common industrial bus voltages. Feedback resolution reaches 2,000 P/R, enabling fine velocity and position increments when the motor is controlled by a compatible amplifier. A torque constant of 0.436 N·m/Arms relates commanded phase current to generated torque, which supports accurate current-loop control. The applicable load inertia is 0.173 × 10-4 kg·m², making the motor suitable for lightweight mechanisms connected through direct drives or low-ratio gearheads.
Dynamic operation permits a maximum mechanical speed of 4500 rpm, providing additional speed capacity during acceleration beyond the rated operating point. Transient loads are supported by a peak stall torque of 1.96 N·m, which is available briefly without exceeding the motor’s thermal limits. The electrical time constant is 2.9 ms, indicating how quickly phase current rises in response to a voltage command. A phase resistance of 3.4 Ω affects copper losses and must be considered when selecting a compatible drive. The motor uses a 54 mm square flange, allowing installation in compact machine assemblies where mounting space is limited. Its compact frame also supports applications with short movement cycles and frequent changes in shaft speed.
