Product Description:
The P50B05020DCLGN servo motor is produced by Sanyo Denki as a member of the P5 Super BL Servo Motors series. This brushless unit converts drive current into regulated mechanical power for indexing tables, conveyors, and compact robotic joints that require repeatable motion. Electronic commutation supports precise torque and speed control without the brushes used in conventional DC motors. The motor is intended for general-purpose industrial automation where compact dimensions, responsive operation, and closed-loop motion control are required.
At its continuous operating point, the motor supplies a mechanical output of 200 W at 3000 rpm while generating 0.637 N·m of torque and drawing 1.6 Arms of phase current. Its torque constant is 0.436 N·m/Arms, linking phase current to the torque delivered at the shaft. The winding has a resistance of 3.4 Ω, which contributes to copper losses and heat generation during operation. The rotor can accelerate to a maximum speed of 4500 rpm, and the motor can tolerate short-term stall torque up to 1.96 N·m. A 24 V electromagnetic brake locks the shaft during idle periods and secures loads when its coil is de-energized. The motor has a 54 mm square flange, an 11 mm keyed shaft, and an overall length of 153.5 mm. Its rotor inertia is 0.17 × 10-4 kg·m², which should be considered when matching the motor to the driven load and setting acceleration profiles.
The housing has an IP55 ingress protection rating, which protects the internal windings against harmful dust deposits and low-pressure water jets. An incremental encoder provides 8,192 divisions per revolution, supplying detailed feedback for position and velocity control loops. The electrical time constant is 2.9 ms, allowing rapid current response for high-gain servo control. Fine encoder resolution helps the controller detect small changes in shaft position during low-speed movement and precise indexing. The permanently mounted holding brake helps prevent back-driving when the motor operates on a vertical axis or supports a suspended load. Sealed construction protects the internal components in industrial settings where airborne dust or occasional water exposure may be present.
