Product Description:
The P50B05010DXS500D is a brushless AC servo motor manufactured by Sanyo Denki within the P5 Super BL Servo Motors series. Intended for compact motion axes in pick-and-place systems and indexing tables, it provides closed-loop positioning through an integrated incremental encoder, while its permanent-magnet design eliminates brush wear. A factory-attached planetary gearbox reduces speed and increases delivered torque, allowing the unit to mount directly on light conveyors or tooling stages without an external reducer.
The drive section produces a continuous mechanical output of 100 W while drawing an RMS phase current of 1.1 A. Internally, the rotor reaches a rated speed of 3000 rpm and can be commanded up to 4500 rpm for short bursts. The 2.5 ms electrical time constant and 4.9 Ω armature resistance influence its current rise characteristics. Position feedback comes from a wire-saving incremental encoder that offers a resolution of 2,000 pulses per revolution, minimizing the cable count between the motor and drive. The motor does not have a holding brake, so external clamping devices must secure vertical or suspended loads when power is removed. No certification standard applies to the motor, so conformity must be evaluated for the completed machine. Inside the gearhead, a reduction ratio of 1:15 converts the motor’s speed and torque for lower-speed applications that require greater output torque.
The planetary stage delivers a continuous output torque of 3.8 N·m at 200 rpm and can withstand peak torque of up to 11.8 N·m. The gearbox has a rated backlash of 42 arcmin. A flange dimension of 54 mm simplifies attachment to compatible machine plates and mounting surfaces, while the rotor inertia is only 0.101 × 10⁻⁴ kg·m², enabling fast acceleration in lightweight axes. Planet gears keep the package short, and the brushless motor maintains its torque characteristics across the available operating range.
