The P50B05005DXS20 servo motor is produced by Sanyo Denki within the P5 Super BL Servo Motors series. This brushless unit converts electrical power into controlled rotary motion for compact positioning axes and light transfer stations in industrial automation. A 54 mm square flange provides direct mounting to gearheads or machine frames. A reduced-wiring incremental encoder with 2,000 pulses per revolution supplies feedback to the drive controller without requiring extra wiring harnesses. Because no holding brake is fitted, an external mechanism must provide static load retention when the motor is not energized.
The motor has a phase resistance of 9.2 Ω and draws a rated armature current of 0.85 A RMS. It delivers a continuous shaft torque of 0.159 N·m at its rated speed of 3,000 rpm. The electromagnetic circuit responds within an electrical time constant of 2.1 ms, and the rotor reaches its commanded velocity after a mechanical time constant of 2.6 ms, helping keep following error low in servo loops. With a torque constant of 0.249 N·m/A RMS, the drive can estimate output torque from the measured phase current. The motor provides a mechanical output of 50 W under nominal operating conditions.
