Product Description:
The P20B10150HXS0E servo motor is built by Sanyo Denki as part of the P2 Super BL Servo Motors series. This brushless unit converts electrical input into controlled rotary motion for indexing tables, pick-and-place axes, and other industrial automation tasks. A reduced-wiring incremental encoder is mounted at the rear, allowing the drive to obtain rotor position data without additional cabling. The 100 mm flange lets the motor bolt directly to compatible gearboxes or machine frames. Its brushless design avoids the mechanical wear associated with brushes and supports repetitive motion in automated equipment.
The motor is rated for 1500 W of continuous mechanical output. At this operating point, it produces 4.79 N m of shaft torque while turning at 3,000 rpm. The torque constant of 0.83 N m/Arms relates drive current to generated torque, while the continuous stall capability reaches 4.90 N m so the axis can hold a static load without exceeding its continuous thermal capacity. Core losses are limited by an induced voltage constant of 29.0 mV/rpm, and the phase windings have a resistance of 0.67 Ω to limit starting current. The electrical time constant is 13 ms, which supports controlled current response during servo operation. The mechanical time constant is 0.57 ms, indicating that the rotor responds quickly when commanded torque is applied.
Peak torque rises to 17.7 N m for short-duration acceleration and positioning moves. The rated armature current is 6.5 Arms, allowing a compatible servo amplifier to supply the required continuous current. The motor has a total mass of 6.5 kg, making it suitable for gantry and robotic joints where motor weight affects axis loading. The encoder supplies 2,000 pulses per revolution, providing detailed position feedback for closed-loop control. The motor does not include a holding brake, so an external restraint or drive-produced torque is required when a stationary load must be secured. A rated power rate of 117 kW/s supports rapid torque changes during dynamic motion cycles.
