The MC1K-U050V is a single-axis motion controller produced by Sanyo Denki for the K SANMOTION Motion Controllers series. It issues position, speed, and current commands to a drive, allowing an automation cell to coordinate one servo axis from a compact control card. By combining axis control and regenerative energy handling on one board, the unit simplifies cabinet layouts used in pick-and-place modules, feeders, and similar automated equipment. Its compact format also reduces the amount of separate control hardware needed for coordinated positioning tasks.

The controller can communicate with a slave rack carrying up to 15 axes on the MA1K bus while retaining a local AF1K port for a standalone load of 1 axis. Peak drive demand is limited by a maximum output of 50 A, allowing the paired amplifier to start high-inertia loads without external boosters. Position feedback from an absolute encoder is processed at 8,192 pulses per revolution, providing fine interpolation for accurate motion control. Remote I/O stations can be installed up to 500 m away over the HPC fiber-optic link, which transfers command data at 625 kbps. A second PLC connection supports cable runs of up to 1 km, allowing supervisory controllers to be installed in a remote control room without signal repeaters. The available communication links support distributed machine layouts while keeping motion commands and status information connected to the main controller.

The program sequencer supports 700 indexing points that can be assigned to products, positions, or operating steps on a conveyor. Its memory also supports in-position monitoring used to confirm that commanded movement has reached the required location before the next machine action begins. A detection range of 1,024 rotations allows the absolute encoder to retain multi-turn position information through power cycles, reducing the need for repeated homing moves. Results and fault signals can be routed through 16 position output points, enabling external relays, interlocks, or vision systems to respond in real time. Regenerative and dynamic-brake resistors are integrated into the controller, where they dissipate returned energy and support controlled stopping without requiring separate resistor assemblies.
