Product Description:

The SP2566-5200 is one of Sanmotion F’s most advanced stepper motors, featuring a chassis with a protection rating of IP 65. For servomotors, a protection category of IP 65 implies resistance against dust and low-pressure liquids. With this type of protection category, the SP2566-5200 can safely be used both in moist and dry environments with a high density of dust particles. Under Sanyo Denki’s Sanmotion F series, stepping motors with an IP-65 chassis may have any of the following sizes: 56 mm. mm.sq. and 86 mm. sq. Aside from these sizes, IP-65-rated motors from the Sanmotion F series may also be of the cable or connector type.

The SP2566-5200, in particular, has a side length of 56 millimeters and belongs under the connector type of stepping motors. It is considered a bipolar motor with an angular step of 1.8 degrees. With this step size, the SP2566-5200 can complete a full revolution with only 200 steps. As a bipolar motor, this unit has four wires and requires a driver circuit to efficiently control the current per motor winding. Unlike unipolar motors, bipolar motors allocate a single winding per phase. The SP2566-5200 has a rated current of 3 A per phase and a holding torque of 1.7 Nm.

Because of its small construction, the SP2566-5200 has a very small rotor inertia of 0.36 x 10^-4 kg(m^2). Since rotary motors such as the SP2566-5200 interface with mechanical loads, the shaft can experience both axial and radial stress during operation. Based on Sanyo Denki’s documentation, the SP2566-5200 has an allowable thrust or axial load of 15 N and an allowable radial load of 23 N. Wake Industrial sells this robust stepper motor with a guaranteed warranty for a full year.
