Product Description:
The SH2862-5143 is a two-phase stepping motor manufactured by Sanyo Denki as part of the F SANMOTION Stepping Motors series. It serves as a positioning actuator in industrial automation. The motor translates command pulses from a driver into discrete shaft increments so that conveyors, small gantries, or indexing tables can stop at repeatable locations without closed-loop feedback.
The motor advances by 1.8° per full step, allowing 200 mechanical increments per revolution; this fine resolution simplifies microstepping when higher positional granularity is needed. A holding torque of 6.4 N·m keeps loads stationary when pulses cease, which is important for vertical axes that must resist back-driving. The coil windings draw 4 A/phase at the rated operating point, so the matched driver must source that current continuously to reach the rated torque curve. Rotor inertia is limited to 3.0 × 10⁻⁴ kg·m², enabling fast acceleration in pick-and-place cycles while still damping minor load disturbances. Electrical dynamics are influenced by a phase inductance of 6.4 mH/phase; this value governs the driver voltage required for rapid current rise during high-speed stepping.
Mechanical integration is provided by a square flange that measures 86 mm on each side, matching many NEMA 34 gearboxes and mounts. The overall depth is 96.5 mm, allowing the motor to fit within compact machinery, and its mass of 2.9 kg keeps moving assemblies light enough for modest linear guides. The radial bearings tolerate up to 200 N of side load, so belt tensions or gear meshes remain within safe limits. The motor also permits 60 N of thrust load and uses a Class B insulation system rated to 130 °C. Shaft runout is held to 0.025 mm, while the static angle error remains within ±0.09° for predictable movement during repetitive duty cycles.
